Decorative box making techniques.
I will be adding many descriptions and pictures which will take the mystery out of the making of these
decorative boxes, for the moment here are a few pictures detailing the covering of the book spines which we
attached to many of the boxes.

Pasting out leather.

Blind tooling the book spines.

We made jigs to make the assembly of the boxes more predictable.

If you are thinking of covering boxes in leather, it needs to be thin. In times gone by it was possible to
obtain sheepskin in very light weights, now most sheepskin is only available in 0.5mm, which is too thick.
But I found a supplier of sheepskin which is 0.3mm thick and just the right weight for what we need.
You can find this leather here.
